Hearing Aids - Then & Now

When Beltone, Inc. opened for business in the 1940s, hearing aids were body aids with multiple parts. Beltone introduced the first ear level hearing instrument in 1956. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Beltone expanded its operations and research.

1983 saw the introduction of the first in-the-canal hearing aid. In 1989, Beltone, Inc. offered the most powerful canal aid available on the market. In the 1990s, Beltone produced the smallest hearing aid offering virtual invisibility. In 1998, Beltone created its first line of digital hearing aids.

In 2004, the Beltone EDGE hearing instrument led the industry in open fitting aids. In 2006, the ONE! hearing instrument was introduced positioning Beltone first in noise reduction technology, and in 2007 came the MARQ, the smallest hearing instrument available with noise reduction features.

Beltone is committed to developing hearing instruments using only the latest hearing technology. They are designed to fit just about any lifestyle and hearing loss. Beltone, Inc. is dedicated to serving your needs and comfort.

The Evolution of the Hearing Aid.

With the advent of open-ear-fittings came the benefits of reduced occlusion, advanced features, and comfort. They may take a little extra time and dexterity to put on, but this new technology is an evolutionary breakthrough fast becoming popular.

The older and more traditional custom in-the-ear instruments may bring about more patient recognition, but the new open-ear-fittings give a more natural sound and are preferable for hearing restoration.

Our hearing instrument specialists will give you every option available to you in fitting choices and technology. It is our goal to successfully match your loss with the best product for corrective purposes and comfort.
